Leadership of TAEU
LETTER FROM THE EMBRY FAMILY
As a military family, we are blessed with the opportunity to domestically serve U.S. soldiers, civilian personnel, and their families through the establishment and operations of Thessalonika A. Embry University (DoD Warfighter Institution of Fort Carson, CO). This letter is our story and our reflections on the current state of higher education.
Thessalonika A. Embry University, established in 2021, is named after Dr. Tessa Embry, one of the co-Founders and President. Dr. Tessa began attending college at 11 years old. She graduated with a Bachelor in Psychology at 14 years old, an M.B.A. Organizational Leadership and Strategic Foresight at 16 years old, and a Ph.D. in Business and Aviation-related studies at 19 years old.
Her brother, Dr. Jeremy completed high school at 14 years old. He finished his Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Psychology, two Master Degrees in Future Studies and Marketing, and a Doctoral program in Leadership by the age of 22. Their mother, Dr. Wonder is a retired Navy officer who extensively studied psychology, family therapy, and counseling. Since 2013, local and national news outlets and social media have repeatedly broadcasted the Embrys' inspirational story to positively influence communities and families nationwide.
Parents and teens across America and abroad requested advice from the Embry Family for academic success strategies to excel in high school and college. The Embry's willingly established the Jump the Education Barrier program in 2015 to equip students with logistics, resources, and strategies to navigate and accelerate college life at universities.
At most colleges and universities, the process of admission, tuition, enrollment, grades, and graduation is unnecessarily complicated and expensive. Leadership at institutions across the United States have primarily considered high student retention and low graduation rates as the definition of success. For each year that students are enrolled, the universities profit more. In this way, academic rigor paralyzes the original purpose of higher education.
The population who greatly suffers institutional profiteering at American universities are U.S. military service members. The schedules and timelines required for degree completion create impossible scenarios for young soldiers, airmen, sailors. Frequent duty and deployment severely delays degree completion. It often takes 5 years for military service members to complete at the very least an Associate degree.
The other special population that suffers from the antiquated systems within higher education itself includes teachers and tutors. Teachers and tutors receive low income, yet tuition and other education costs have increased due to inflation. Administrative roles not directly involved in the academic processes of learning command high pay.
Thessalonika A. Embry University (DoD Warfighter Institution of Fort Carson, CO--TAEU) intends to create positive change. As an accredited postsecondary school, the mission of TAEU is to holistically blaze a trail of success in blending academic processes into a cohesive, coherent format with Lean Six Sigma principles by minimizing stress, introduce good opportunities, and lead a modernized era of education. In one year (12 months), students will complete 210 college credits and graduate with their Associate, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral degrees. A high quality, accelerated schooling experience is possible. It will benefit many underserved populations - military service members, home schooling parents and students, students who are failing at other universities, and teachers and tutors.
Each degree option strategically carves a field of study into industries that are rapidly evolving in this technologically advanced society. Graduates from TAEU programs will access knowledge acumen along with human, social, and financial capital. Wealth Cultivation will train blue collar and middle class families to generate wealth through an understanding of economic and financial paradigms. Learning and Pedagogy will enable current and future teachers and tutors to increase their income with added skillsets and strong resume. Air and Space will further essential agendas of the aerospace, defense, and aviation industries. The field of study in Human Psychology will encourage personal, thoughtful analysis of humanity and encourage social justice.
Our family is delighted to contribute to the field of higher education and dedicated to improving the quality of life in military and civilian societies through the operations of Thessalonika A. Embry University. This work is primarily creative, requiring problem-solving skills in applying psychological and methodological principles to real-life situations. We are happy to invest into your reality with our service to you. You are welcome to join us in achieving this shared vision to jump the education barrier.
